YOUNG EIGHT FOR FIVE
OPEN MIC RULES:
- Ages 14-25
- No full bands, only small acts
- Acoustic acts preferred
- 10 minute sets (2-3 songs)
- Sign up at door
- Sign up for yourself only
- First come, first serve
- Bring your own equipment, venue is not responsible for lost or broken equipment.
- P.A. is supplied with 4 additional microphones.
- Please be respectful to equipment, it's not yours.
- TUNE UP before your set, you are given 10 minutes to play, use your time wisely. Don't spend most of it tuning.
- Come prepared with something to play, we will not tolerate “winging it”
- 10 minutes means 10 minutes, you will not be given anymore time. When you are finished wit your set, please just pick up what you brought with you and make room for the next person on the list.
- Don't play your instrument while somebody is performing, it's rude and distracting.
- Make sure your levels are god before performing (mic, guitar, etc...), so we can all hear you.
- If you are playing to a mp3 track, talk to the host or sound guy upon arrival. NOT right before you are about to go on.
- When performing original songs, please be courteous and not use profane language if it is not necessary.
- Be a respectful audience member. Don't be judgmental toward acts, some performances may be one's first, so give them the chance and your support.
- HAVE FUN! Open mics are a great way to meet musicians, try out new material, and share your talent in front of an audience.
- Leave your attitudes and egos at home and come out and have a good time!
- SEE YOU THERE!
